Hello again! Thought it was about time I checked in, as studio news has been mainly restricted to my Facebook and Instagram accounts lately, and it’s been quite a while since I last checked in over here with anything to report.
Not that I’ve been slacking off of course – quite the opposite in fact! There’s lots of wonderful new stuff on the horizon soon, from some equally wonderful artists.
For starters, I’ve once again been working with those merchants of lovely emotive pop known as Demons of Ruby Mae. The new single ‘Beneath the Surface’ has just come back from being mastered at Abbey Road, and will be released early next month! In the meantime, here are some nice words about the B-side track ‘Gold’, and Soundcloud player where you can hear it: http://www.musicreviewdatabase.co.uk/2013/10/discovery-demons-of-ruby-mae-gold.html
As well as engineering and producing the two tracks, I’ve also been signed up to get my hands dirty on the live stage in support of this new release. I’ll be covering bass duties on the November 8th and 9th launch shows at Leicester’s Y Theatre and the Manchester Academy respectively, so keep your eyes on the band’s Facebook and Bandcamp pages for full details. Should be fun!
In other news, Bovine are still going from strength to strength, with appearances on the BBC Radio 1 rock show, a national tour with Sylosis, and cherrybombed.com calling the debut album The Sun Never Sets on the British Empire’ one of the best releases of 2013! Always good to see those guys doing well. Long may it continue!
Plenty more excitement to report soon. Stay tuned!
